There are volunteers working quietly behind the scenes providing nutritious breakfasts for children every school day and with it access to extra-curricular activities.

The Human League Association (HLA) members believe each child should be given an equal opportunity to participate in and enjoy physical activity and receive nutritious meals.

By removing the social and economic barriers faced by low-income families, volunteers provide a healthy, safe environment to children and youth so they can grow up with a happier, healthier, and more productive life.

In conjunction with the breakfast program is the campaign to subsidize the costs associated with extra-curricular activities and develop programs and events designed to increase physical activities.

Here is where the volunteers foster the importance of goal setting, goal achievement and motivation. Under the Positive Leisure Activities for Youth (P.L.A.Y.) campaign, up to $200 can be accessed per child with the option of applying two more times through the year.

The funds can be used toward a sports registration, equipment, etc. Volunteers continue to fundraise and develop relations with local suppliers to ensure the programs continue to grow.
