Now that we’re wearing masks everywhere we go, I noticed myself smiling but receiving no response from people because my smile is hiding behind the fabric affixed to my face.
I’ve noticed that missing just this little bit of connection with people has been very difficult emotionally. So, I’ve been putting some thought on how to improve it.
Conclusion: all we see are eyes!
What can I do so people notice my smile through my eyes?
Looking closely at my eyes, and others’, I now notice we never paid close attention to them. This is something we need to address since they are what we mostly show now, especially for many of us whose work includes interacting with others.
The eyes are the windows to soul, aren’t they? They convey our happiness, our sadness, our tiredness. So, let’s try to show our glow.
Because the skin around our eyes is fine and delicate — like onion skin — we need to use products designed to treat our eyes. We can use Botox, which relaxes the orbicularis muscle, to open the eye a little and bring light into the area. This is also a great way to give us the appearance of a well-rested eye
Since there are so many products to choose from, how do you know which one is the right one?
Let’s start by figuring what concerns we wish to address.
Do I look tired?
Are my eyes puffy?
Can I see dark circles?
Are there lines?
Do I seem washed out?
What can cause some of these ailments?
Puffiness is often seen due to allergies, smoking, congestion. Dark circles are generally due to dehydration which in turn creates our fine lines and washed out, tired eyes.
When looking into eye creams and treatments there are some key ingredients to look for, such as Matrixyl, Niacinamide, Antioxidants, Tremella Mushroom Extract, and Glutathione. These last ones are meant to reduce fines lines, moisturize / hydrate, and decrease the appearance of age.
There are also vitamins in your eye treatments that help with brightening, hyperpigmentation, and moisture. These are Vitamins B3 and B5. When it comes to products available through Nigelle Medi Estethics there are a couple specific items from AlumierMD that I would recommend: AlluminEye: it’s meant to brighten, moisturize, reduce puffiness, and targets dark circles.
Retinol Eye Gel: which reduces aging and fine lines while moisturizing.
If you’ve tried products, of any brand, and haven’t noticed a difference then reach out. I would love to help you find that sparkle you’ve be looking for. After all, we need smiles and bright, glimmering eyes to communicate better.
