What’s the first thought that springs to mind when someone mentions Southwest Florida? Sunshine and rainbows, perhaps?

Or maybe beaches? Well, it’s much more andiinta has the scoop you need! The environment of SWFL is like a tropical vacation — Caribbean cruise, anyone? Except, you don’t need to take a cruise to visit this destination location.

Rather, you can fly to Florida’s southwest coast and check out some of their tops cities such as Fort Myers, Cape Coral and Naples.

The latter two have been ranked in the State’s top 50 cities for safety. Not much of a flyer? See it all from the ground with an adventurous drive along a fantastic waterside filled with glorious sun, beaches and parkways. For the snowbirds, it’s home away from home with an extra special view. Let’s not forget this coastal home features fine dining, yachting, museums, art galleries, state parks and golf courses.

FORT MYERS

Southwest Florida offers a wide assortment of golfing opportunities, Fort Myers alone has over 40 ranges, and some gated communities include their very own 18-hole courses.

This happens to includeFiddlesticks Country Club. This luxurious gated community features two golf courses, a pool, tennis courts, fitness facilities, socials and fine dining all at their community’s fingertips. Debra Welsh, broker and associate withHome Pros of SWFL, specializes in luxurious real estate.

She can help potential buyers find their perfect home. “Some of the aspects that set Fiddlesticks apart from other golf communities is it has 36 holes of championship golf for just 600 members (so a very low-density community) where you can golf seven days a week on a tee-time system.” Welsh says. “Fort Myers is also the home of the Boston Red Sox spring training, as well as the Minnesota Twins, this is a big draw to many baseball fans.”

CAPE CORAL

When it comes to Cape Coral, this stunning city is known for its canals. But it wasn’t always such a lovely place. It used to be marsh and swamp land before brothersLeonard and Jack Rosen had a brilliant idea. They decided to build the canals and start their dream of creating paradise.

Now, Cape Coral features boat cruises where passengers can watch the dolphins and manatees! This gorgeous city also has 11 waterfront parks. Sunsplash Family Park is part of Cape Coral’s history and a great place for even more fun in the sun! There’s over 14 acres to explore, including a section for the smaller people among us—toddlers. The park offers an array of classes starting at six months of age too.

As for shopping,Cape Harbour is the way to go. Not only is it a yachting dock and marina, but houses a combination of dining, shopping, and residential properties. If that’s not enough to keep you preoccupied, the harbour also has a number of spectacular events and live entertainment. Visitors also get that spectacular waterside experience as they explore. Cape Harbour sits on the waterfront, so dock your boat and shop till you drop.
